We are on STT and so far I'm very pleased that we purchased trip insurance.

We missed our connecting flight in San Juan and American lost my husbands luggage.

Tropical storm watches will be up today for "maria"

Wooohoo

It's always wise to take out trip insurance when traveling to the Caribbean in general during hurricane season and it's quite inexpensive but good to have "just in case". One caveat which does pop up on forums every so often is to carefully read the contract and see exactly what is covered. As with any contract, read the fine print carefully ... You say you missed your connecting flight in San Juan and that American lost your husband's luggage but are such things covered by your trip insurance? Obviously you made it to St Thomas and airlines do lose luggage but usually manage to retrieve it and forward it to you in short shrift, otherwise the onus is on them.

Nothing yet on tropical storm watches for the USVI and, as posted on another thread, T/S Maria may be downgraded to a tropical wave before she reaches us. She continues to move very quickly which is a good sign.
