We are leaving for STT June 10 and we are sooooooo excited!!!! I think I have asked this before months ago but has anyone stayed at the Wyndham lately? I know there was a Maureen that was headed there but as of yet I cant find her posting. Anyway. I would like to know about the resort, when we first booked it I was told it was being renovated and was almost done... they were also working on fixing the rocky beach. This was about 6 months ago...anyone been lately? We also wanted to go to the other island, and have read about the car ferry should we bring the van or would walking be better. IT will be myself, husband and 4 kids 14,14,13,11. our van is rented from Hertz.. Oh and a off the wall question my husband wants asked. Does the island have non dairy creamer ? the powdered stuff for coffee. He said he found on here some place that the island doesnt carry it, and is having a melt down and is worried about bringing it for fear of someone thinking its something other then powdered creamer LOL...

I don't think hertz will let you take there cars on the barge so you will be stuck with taxis or renting on STJ.

C.A.:

First, Hertz will not allow you to bring their vehicles to St. John. So the car ferry is out.

Non-dairy creamer is available at the super markets on STT. But if you're overly concerned just bring a bottle of it in your checked baggage.

I have never stayed at the Wyndham Sugar Bay, but we own a condo next door at the Point Pleasant Resort. I've heard that the place is nice, but not to buy the all inclusive package. There are many good restaurants around the island to choose from and since you have a car it will be less costly than taking taxis. The Mrs. tried the spa at the Wyndham, but was not impressed. I've walked through the resort and it is very attractive.

The beach at the Wyndham hasn't changed. It is small by comparison to other beaches and is a little rocky....but still very good. Plus the view is incredible. You will also be near Coki and Sapphire beaches. You can walk to Coki through Point Pleasant then across Pineapple Beach and then turn right on the road for about 150 yards to Coki, but it is a long walk. Better to take the car.

Hope this helps.

F.I.

You might consider switching your rental from Hertz to Budget....Budget DOES allow you take take their vehicles to St. John.
