Part of our group wants to visit Coki Beach/Coral World and the other part wants to windsurf or kayak. Where can kayaks or windsurf equipment be rented and any idea how much?

What type of water sports are at Coki Beach?

Hello Jenn,

At Coki there is snorkeling and you can rent snorkel gear there or bring your own. There is a dive shop. Jet ski rental across the parking lot/road from the beach.

About a 6 minute drive from Coki Beach is Sapphire Beach where you can find windsurfing, kayaking and other watersports. Rates are from earlier this year: kayaks single are $10 for 30 minutes and $15 hour, double are $15 for 30 minutes and $20 hourly. Windsurfing, $40 for lessons, rentals are $30… same for sunfish. Paddle boat are $15 for 30 minutes and $20 for an hour.

Other beaches with kayaks and windsurfing... Cowpet, Bolongo and Sugar Bay.

If your group members that are wanting watersports are really wanting to do a few different things each check out Cowpet. They have a daypass per person of $25 and with that the person can use snorkel gear, kayaks, aquafins, windsurfing, paddleboats. One hour each equipment unless no one is waiting, price is per person. They are open 10-4pm everyday. Windsurfing pointers are $20/hr. There is good snorkeling at Cowpet along the left side, if you swim out a bit. Beach/shore sandy and lined with palm trees, pretty; in the water it's largely sandy.

Bolongo has a similar daypass at around $40/person for non-motorized watersports and use of the volleyball court, tennis courts and other related amenities. The beach/shore is nice & sandy; in the water its rocky in places.

Under the St. Thomas tab (at the top of this page) you will find a Beach Guide with photos and descriptions of these and other beaches on St. Thomas.
