I was wondering if anyone knows of shops etc that rent windsurfing equipment in St Croix. We would like to vacation there, but not unless we can windsurf. Thanks for any help you can give me
I don't believe that any shops rents windsurfing equipment on STX, but I'm a snorkeler. Perhaps someone else can give you a more definitive answer.
I just googled and got the following
Head for the St. Croix Water Sports Center (tel. 340/773-7060), on a small offshore island in Christiansted Harbor and part of the Hotel on the Cay. It's open daily from 11am to 3pm. Windsurfing rentals are $25 per hour. Lessons are available. The center also offers parasailing for $65 per person and rents snorkeling equipment for $20 per day and Sea Doos that seat two for $45 per half-hour.
Also,
Experts should try windsurfing at Salt River, where the winds are the strongest on the island and the surf is at its highest. At Duggan's Reef, at the island's east end, conditions are also suitable for windsurfing. And the calm waters off Hotel on the Cay, sheltered by Long Reef, are perfect for novices and experts alike. Lessons and equipment rentals are available.
.......Not that I'm sure that what I get on Google is accurate information so you'll have to verify.... Islander? Do you have any information?
