I live in the north suburbs of Chicago, Il. All day every day, you hear about Natalee Holloway. I never heard about this story on CNN or any other major news stations. The only reason it was brought to my attention was because I am in the process of booking my trip to go back to St. Thomas this fall & my father asked if I had heard about it. I have googled & tried many searches, but can find VERY little information on this story. I wonder why that is? I fell for all the families involved with this case, as well as the Natalee situation. I just wonder why this story is not gaining the national attention, as the Aruba situation?
In closing I must say, as disturbing as this is, ST. Thomas is beautiful & we fell in love with it last fall. My boyfriend & I are looking to move there in the next few years. You can have crime anywhere, there are just some bad people, but I hope this does not discourage people from visiting there. I have been to 10 other islands & felt safe while I was in St.Thomas the whole time, which I have not experienced on most of the other islands I have been to.
