Hi guys
So I was wondering who on this board is a local of VI? I'd like an update of the weather I obviously check it constantly because my trip is next week and they are predicting some nasty t-storm weather for the ENTIRE duration of my trip. I've read plenty of posts talking about weather,so I don't want to keep asking the same record to play...I'd just like some accuracy from a VI local

Out the window and off the deck off my house in STT on Crown Mt. at noontime - blue skies, scattered puffy clouds, sunny, 84', and about 9 kts of wind at 70'NE.

Ditto Exit Zero's real time weather report... that's what it looks like in general for St. Thomas... and for comparison looking at the actual weather report for today it says "pleasant with sunshine".

Looking at the weather report for the week it says stormy, rainy conditions in the morning. Generally speaking we might get some rain in the morning and then it clears up for the rest of the day, however its certainly possible that it rains off and on all day. One week of rainy weather every day is unusual but it does happen. Stay tuned and we can give you a real time report tomorrow and see if the rain actually arrives.

For those who may be interested in the view and the real time weather report, we have installed a web cam at our vacation rental home overlooking Flamingo Bay, Saba, sunsets, passing ships and the west end of St. Thomas. We value our and our guests privacy so it only points out toward the water/sunset and pans over to St. Thomas and there is no audio. Thought it would be nice to look at the view even if we're not able to be there all the time and possibly others may be interested as well. You can get to the web cam via flamingopointusvi.viewnetcam.com.

Then, user name is flamingo and the password is pointusvi (all lower case letters). Click on the tab entitled "Single" and click on the preset choices.

There is also a real time weather station available at www.wunderground.com - use area code 00801 - and click on the blue Mahogany Run station for a full report.

The one at Tickles you have to log into - hate that!
The webcamsmania site funnily enough says that the Soggy Dollar on Jost Van Dyke in is Virginia - and again I didn't have time to wait for it to show as it rolled around for about five minutes before I gave up!

Just saying!

Islander, I've been reading along as I too am headed for St. Thomas next week (Thursday the 18th) to celebrate my 40th Bday on the island. I've always wanted to come and finally just booked a home and am coming! That said - all I see on the forecast are rain predictions ov 60% everyday starting on Wednesday. Do you think that I'll be spending a Thr (18th) - Tue (23rd) in soggy weather or is there a chance I'll see a bit of sun as well?

Not to "rain on your parade" ha ha....at least I make myself laugh...anyway...I come down to the islands frequently and agree with everyone that it says chance of showers everyday and then it only rains overnight or in the early morning. However, I was down there once and the forecast called for sunny and 80's everyday and then it rained everyday! And I mean rained....hard....all day long....in January....the driest month of the year. The silver lining? You're in the Caribbean, its still warm and there are plenty of places to wait it out. Is it ideal? No...but it is what you make of it. I too would be disappointed to spend money on my vacation and have it rain the whole time (and I was) but in the end, you're still on vacation!

There's not a hint of anything abnormal. Pack plenty of sunscreen and block.

Hey gre8life - last weeks forecast was all rain too and that didn't happen. Chances are good that you won't have all rain, but there is always the small possibility that you might. Doesn't happen often where we have a week of rain but it has happened. We had a little rain shower yesterday in the afternoon, today is sunny and beautiful. :@)
