My friends are planning on spending 2 nights at White Bay Campground after our week of wedding festivities... I've seen a lot of info on Cinnamon Bay Campground, but not White Bay.

When they made thier reservations, the lady didn't even take a last name-- or a deposit! I know it's the islands, but is this normal? Will their reservation hold?

Anything they should know before embarking on their adventure from other seasoned USVI campers?

Thanks so much! This forum has been so helpful.

Might be a good thing the lady didn't take a deposit! I'll defer to a St. Johnian on this one, but I'm pretty sure (after a brief consultation of my St. John map) there is no White Bay on St. John.(I don't know about STT or STX) The only White Bay I'm aware of is on Jost Van Dyke.

White Bay Campground, i.e. Ivan's, is on Jost van Dyke. It wouldn't surprise me they didn't take a last name or deposit, VERY laid back. They have an honor bar, music with Ivan and Fuji sometimes, an incredible place if you're into "Stress Free" and not into luxury.

Thanks for the assurance! Yes, I know where White Bay is- sorry I didn't specify. I was worried that they would get over there and not have a place to stay. Sounds like they will have a blast!!!!

Thanks Wes!!!!
We are actually chartering the "Allura" cat for the day and getting hitched on St John and then sailing to JVD and spending the rest of the day partying at Soggy Dollar!

We will be there on March 22nd if you want to join the festivities!

I'd love to but alas I won't be there 'til July, but it sounds like you are going to have a blast. Last time I was there St. John, we watched about 8 weddings! I kept telling my 15 yr. old daughter, "wouldn't that be cool to get married down here!" (hint..hint!) Post some pics when you get back! I'd love to see you in a wedding dress diving off the Allure at White Bay! Be sure to take some Skin so Soft (Avon product that you can get at Wal-Mart) for the noseeums! Good Luck!
