*Hello!

I'm staying on St Thomas for the first time and would like to know some details of where to stay. First of all traveling by myself and would like to be close to some bars or nightclubs. I'm considering staying at the Island Beachcomber or the Best Western. It is my understanding that they both are on Emerald beach, or what is called lindburg beach. If you were to recomend one, which would it be, and do they both offer massages or can one get one close by?

Anthing that you can add would help me greatly.

Thanks,
Dan

Hi,
I have stayed at both the Best Western Emerald Beach and the Beachcomber and would recommend the Best Western Emerald Beach. My family has stayed at Best Western twice, Beachcomber once, when we couldn't get into the Best Western. The Best Western has nice clean rooms all of which have waterfront balconies, pool, nice beach bar and continental breakfast. We felt that the accommodations at the Best Western were nicer and will be returning there in a couple days!!

You definitely want to stay at Emerald Beach, but you are not going to be close, i.e., within walking distance to bars, etc. - you might want to do some more research. We stayed at E.B. several years and it is a lovely place, but we discovered there were also other "lovely" places in different areas of the island that we would have preferred if we were to do it over - have you considered St. John? Have a wonderful trip - the islands are quite addictive!

If you stay on this side of the island, you'll be fairly close to Charlotte Amalie (downtown), but not close to Red Hook, where much of the bar/club/evening action is. If you decide to be closer to Red Hook - consider a condo as Sapphire Village or Crystal Cove.
