I will be flying into St. Thomas. Which would be much easier - taking a ferry from Charotte Amalie or driving to Redhook and taking the ferry from Redhook to St. John?
Which would be a nice ride?

Thanks

Personally, I would take the taxi ride to the ferry dock in Red Hook, but they work out to be aproximately the same cost. Just depends if you want a longer taxi ride or boat ride. I'd opt for the taxi because you get to see some of STT and it's a quicker way to Cruz Bay (by about 5-10 minutes). Airport to town is $5 each person +$1 per bag, so figure $6 to get to the ferry that'll cost $7 to get to Cruz Bay. Airport to Red Hook is $9 ea. + $1 per bag, so figure $10 to get to the 3 p/p ferry to Cruz Bay.

What about those water taxi's I've heard about - does it run about the same cost? Does it get me to Cruz Bay quicker than the Ferry?

Thanks for your help

The Water Taxi would cost more, and you would have to arange it ahead of time, as it really isn't like a taxi. I mean, there aren't 10 of them sitting at the dock waiting for someone to come along and use them.
