I will be in St Thomas on a Sunday in January and trying to decide between Emerald and Morningstar. Which one will be less crowded?
Thanks

emerald is by the airport. Moringstar is on the south side by the Marriott. If it is not windy I would go to Sapphire.

Neither Emerald or Morningstar is usually crowded. They both have hotels on site so there are typically some hotel guests on the beaches. Emerald is close to Crown Bay; if there is a ship at that dock then some cruisers choose to go to Emerald since its very close. And Emerald is somewhat popular with residents on Sunday afternoons but not a huge crowd. So, Emerald will likely have more people but again neither will likely be crowded.

Gotta go to Magens Bay One of the best in the world. Have some steak fries, burger, and a couple of Bushwackers. So Beautiful

Thanks for the responses so far. I have been to Magens and it is beautiful but also quite crowded. I have also been to Emerald which I liked a lot. Have never been to Morningstar but it seems to get mixed reviews of late. I also am concerned about rough surf. On the other hand if it is really worth seeing maybe I should go for it. I leave for my cruise this Sunday and will be there next Sunday so I will have to make up my mind by then. This will be my first time there on a Sunday and was also thinking crowd and traffic patterns might be different.

I wouldn't make a special trip to go to Morningstar. A beautiful beach which you might not have considered is Smith Bay Park (formerly Lindqvist) which is on the East end of the island. Now under the management of the Magens Bay Authority it has a small entrance fee, limited facilities as yet (no food vendors) but is a beautiful spot. Pack up a small cooler with some snacks and sodas or whatever and you can enjoy a lovely few hours there.
