My wife and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary next year. We are considering St Thomas/St John for a celebration trip. I am getting soooo confused about where to stay. We would prefer to stay away from the large resorts. We also would like to be able to cook some of our own meals (including a grill). One of the options being considered is Harmony Suite on St Thomas. But, after looking at some private villas/condos on St John, I am more confused. We enjoy taking long walks in the morning. Can anyone help???

I think that you would enjoy St John. If you stayed at Gallows Point, which gets consistantly great reviews, you would be able to walk to Cruz Bay.

They have more nice, quiet places to stay on St John other than Gallows Point,Lavendar Hill and the Westin Resort...
Try www.villalamer.com
www.stjohnhouserentals.com/VillaCielomar.html
www.villalarimar.com/stjohnproperties

All these condos are in a gated, private area with a wonderful Lap Pool. It's very quiet and only a short walk further than Gallows Point. We stayed in Villa Cielomar (and loved it!!) and we are leaving next Monday and are staying in Villa Larimar this time!
We love the area it's in....I'm sure you would enjoy your stay here!
Have a great trip!
Debbie

Hello s valentine

If you have not been to the USVI before, I would suggest you plan on STJ for your 25th. Quieter, more romantic and still close enough to STT if you want heavy duty shopping, etc. As you can tell there are numerous places to stay...from secluded villas to resort (not Disneyland style). You can take nature hikes with the Parks Department or shorter ones on your own. Visit island history or just lay on any of the countless beaches...often by yourselves. 😉
