OK -- please help me. Where do I stay? My husband and I will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary -- have not decided whether to stay on St. John or St. Thomas. I have looked at Caneel Bay, Westin, Wyndham Sugar Bay, Ritz Carlton, etc. Can someone recommend something. We want wonderful views and also a good beach and pool and want to be able to walk places. I have read all of the comments on this website and cannot decide based on the messages displayed. Please give me the top 3 choices. Thanks.

My all time favorite on St Thomas is Sapphire Beach. The villas are on the beach with views of St John. You are 1 mile from Red Hook Marina with a 20 minute ferry ride to St John for a day trip.
Also from Sapphire you can walk to the road (Smith Bay) and catch a open air ride for $3.00 that will take you to town for shopping, catch the same small bus back to Sapphire Beach. The ride from the airport is about 30 min depending on traffic. This time of year is always busy. Every Sunday the resort has a cookout with great island bands. That's been a long tradition, even the locals attend.
Sapphire has a good website that will help. My second favorite is Point Pleasant. It's high and reguires up and down hill walking, but the rooms have great views, Excellent restaurant, 3 pools high on the mountain side. If you pick St Thomas, I would suggest the east end of the island for condos or the north side for villas, tho you do need a car. Best of luck
