I would like to plan a week vacation next summer in St. Thomas. We are a family of 6
Twin girls who will be 19, 16 and 13 year old boys, hubby and myself. My boys are active.
Which hotel is nice has a great beach and pool plus other activiteis,ie, basketball etc.
Also what is the drinking age? This past month we went to nassau. The drinking age and gambling age was 18. There was not a night club in the hotel, which I think my girls would like even if they drink soda.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.
Hello Brenda,
The drinking age is 18.
I don't know of any resorts that have basketball... but certainly other activities are available... mostly watersports. Ritz Carlton has kayaking, snorkeling, windsurfing, kiteboarding (not sure if the guys I saw were out of the resort or on their own), charters... Sapphire has a watersports booth with jet skis, kayaking, windsurfing... Secret Harbor has a dive shop and good snorkeling... nice pool and beach... Elysian has an assortment of watersports as well and also Morningstar... which is affiated with Frenchmans Reef (both are Mariott resorts) and it has a couple bar/pool tables/dancing that your girls could walk to on the resort grounds and enjoy. Wyndham Sugar Bay also has beach/watersports/bar/music/nice pool on the resort grounds.

Islander! Bolongo has basketball! Also beach volleyball and a dive shop, etc.
Brenda: Bolongo doesn't have a night club, but the beach bar, Iggie's, has kareoke night and other entertainment.
Thanks East Ender 🙂

I am trying to plan my honeymoon in St. john for October 5-12. We are looking for something private and running in the $700 a week range. My fiancee' and I like to hike and snorkel , but we also enjoy the nightlife. Preferably something in Coral Bay, but anywhere in the price range would do. Thank you for any suggestions.
Hello Yana,
St. John has pricey accomodations.
For the price range but not in Coral Bay you could try

I don't know anything about Yellow Bird Cottage but its in that price range, so is Star Villas.
Good Luck and Congrats.

Hey Islander,
Thanks for the info. It's just like me to go from one extreme to the other, but I think we have decided to stay at the Casablanca at Cruz Bay. Do you have any words of wisdom? If so, could you pass them along?
