We are looking at renting a house on St. Thomas, however I do not understand if I can rent a house anywhere on the island an be within 10 minutes to shops, attractions, nightlife or if I should look to rent a house in "charlotte amalie or red hook" Please advise I want the BEST experience of the VI's!
THANK YOU!!!
Chcek out the McLaughin Anderson website. They have wonderful properties. With a rental car (pretty inexpensive), you can stay on the north shore of STT or near Red Hook and be in Charlotte Amalie after a short, beautiful drive.
Some great restaurants include: Noche and Oceana in Frenchtown, Off the Hook in Red Hook, and Fungi's at Point Pleasant.
Happy travels!
Hello Bethany,
If you were looking at descriptions of homes close to Red Hook and comparing them to homes close to Charlotte Amalie... the descriptions for either could say 10 minutes from shops ect. because there are shops, attractions, nightlife in Red Hook and also in Charlotte Amalie. However if you are staying in Red Hook/East End area then in reality you are about a 20-30 minute drive to Charlotte Amalie and its attractions and vice versa.
What would you rather be closer to? Are you renting a car (if so then it doesn't really matter as you can drive whereever in a relatively short period of time)?
