We are looking at the Cow pet beach area and Point Pleasant area. Are there any advantages of one or the other. We have visited twice on a cruise and this will be our first week stay.

Thanks!

Machelle:

We like Point Pleasant....but we're biased....we own a condo there.......

However having said that, it is a great location with a fantastic view.....and the rates are generally lower than other comparable properties. And being a condo you have a fully stocked kitchen to prepare meals thus saving you $$$. Point Pleasant has a very small secluded beach (which I love) and is a short walk (or drive) to Coki...one of the best (IMHO) beaches on STT. We have 2 restaurants, Agave and Fungi's, 3 swimming pools, tennis courts, exercise room, nature trails, etc. We also have an activities desk (where you can reserve sailing trips, make restaurant reservations, etc.) and a small convenience center in the lobby for breakfast foods and other incidental needs purchases.

When you reserve or arrive request a hill top unit for (IMHO) the best views.....also don't skimp on the accommodations...request a Superior Suite. For the few extra $$$ you'll be glad you did.

If you want further info please send me a "Private Message".

Cowpet Bay is also very nice, we looked there to buy as well, but Cowpet (IMHO) lacks the view, has a more "residential" rather than "resort" feel. At Point Pleasant you can walk next door to the Wyndham Resort for dining and drinks.

And where ever you stay RENT A CAR.

They both have their attributes. Cowpet overlooks the St Thomas Yacht Club, is next to Elysian which has a lovely swimming beach and two nice restaurants - Robert's for upscale and his nearby more casual Ainsley's. Cowpet does have a more residential feel and it's VERY peaceful. Cowpet is also quite near beautiful Secret Harbour (gorgeous beach, good snorkelling) and the Blue Moon restaurant and both PP and Cowpet are not too far from the bustling Red Hook area where several stores and the ferry terminal are located. Cheers!
