Silly question.....
We are coming to St John this weekend. We are only taking carry-ons so we are packing light. Where is the best place to buy sunscreen once we get there that won['t cost us an arm and a leg.

Sunscreen is going to cost an arm and a leg on STJ. Well, maybe you can find someplace where it will only cost a arm. Either stop on STT (where it will only cost you some fingers) or bring it from home. My favorite is NO ADS. Cheap and good.

Kmart has a good selection and the prices aren't too bad. You could also grab some groceries there too.

Thinking more about picking it up in St John.. We are not really buying groceries and by the time we pay for a cab to stop by K-mart and such then the price of sunscreen has just went up more. We are taking the Red Hook ferry over to St John so if there is a place close to there then that might be an option.

You can try the Food Center right before Red Hook or the Marina Market in Red Hook.

Sunscreen is expensive on island. STJ Spice, right at the ferry dock sells it. You can also get it at any of the grocery stores and the drug store.

No idea of the prices, but as I walked by Chelsea Drug in Red Hook today I noticed they had a wide variety.

With the fragile reef system on St John in mind, I recommend you a buy non-toxic, reef-safe sunscreen.

Chelsea Drug on St. John, second level of the Marketplace, has a pretty big selection and the prices are under $10 last time I checked. Pine Peace also has sunscreen and they are usually the cheapest on everything, so I would check there first. Have a great time!

Bare in mind that if you are renting a villa, the maids often leave the sun screen that other guests have left. You might not have to buy any at all! 😉
