Arriving in a couple weeks to stay in watergate villas; is there a reasonably priced store between the airport and watergate villas where we can pick up a few staples - i.e., milk, bread, pbj, bottled water, chips, soft drinks or sweet tea? And is there somewhere like a krispy kreme to get a box of donuts or pastries? (we obviously eat very healthy on vacation, ha, ha). Thanks for any info!

No Krispy Kreme here. There's a Pueblo supermarket just past Nisky Center on your way from the airport. There is also a Pueblo in Long Bay which is near the ship docks at Havensight. There is also Frank's Bakery near the Pueblo market that's near Nisky Center.

Once you've arrived and need groceries again, there is a super market going toward Red Hook called Food Center. Seems to be a favorite for alot of people. This store is not on your way to Watergate tho. There is also Plaza Extra in Tutu area by the Big K!

Just stayed at Watergate and we went past the condo to the Food Center. Produce is pretty gross...not sure about pastries ( was wearing a bikini and needed all the help I couls get at my age) I do remember that even the bread selection was poor!. Bring your own PB & maybe even some pastries etc. Less expensive. We also went to market by the marina, less choice but OK.

We shop on STT once a week for the past 8 years, and we have 12 days before we shop again, YEAH!!!! Each year we learn something new or soemthing we like more than last year. So here is 8 years of experience in a couple of lines. We do not like the Pueblo closest to the airport, meat department smells horrible. The Pueblo across the street from Wendy's (near Havensite) is pretty good, warning I think a homeless person has approached inside the store for a handout everytime. But we have always found what we needed at Plaza Extra near the big K Mart. We haven't tried Food Center yet, maybe this year.
We got 14" of snow (Minesota) this weekend, I wonder how they make it up the steep hills on STT in the winter? 🙂

Rusty: We are adding skeleton champions to the VI bobsled folks! See here: http://www.virginislandsdailynews.com/index.pl/article_sports?id=17604624

To teecee: Since you are going to be staying in the VI, you should forget about "reasonably priced" anything! LOL 😉 Another idea is to stop in Havensight at Gourmet Gallery for your staples and the Cream and Crumb for local pastries.

Hey Rusty,
Years ago, when I used to work in town, someone actually asked me that question! 🙂
On the countdown now! Mark another day off the calender!
