I have been to Stt several times and would like to know where do the locals party? I'm looking for more of a club atmosphere, not a bar restaurant. A long time ago I went to a nightclub high up in the mountains, it had two levels, glass walls that looked out into the mountains and I think a pool outside. It was destroyed by a hurricane at least 15 years ago. But that is the kind of club that I am looking for. I also went to a club that was connected to the Sugar Mill Restaurant. Is that still open? I'm pretty comfortable driving at night. Thanks for the help.

There is a night club in the new Yacht Haven Grande mall. I can't remember the name of it, but I heard it is pretty popular. I think it has a wide age range.

Phatt Turtle at YHG gets pretty busy with a cross section of people.

We are two 40 yr old women, that can hang past 12am. We are not exactly looking for a touristy place.

Hull Bay is a local favorite.

Too bad they don't start up the Sunday Beach party at Sapphire again.:-(

You've probably never heard of this place before, but it's listed in St Thomas This Week (don't know if it's always been there), and I've never seen anybody recommend it on any of the tourist forums.

Max Squeeze Inn in Barbel Plaza. They usually have a local band, Spectrum Band or Milo's Kings, and I think they have a cover charge ($10?) Their number's not in the phone book (odd), but there was one listed on the St Thomas This Week (which I don't have now). I'll see if I can call later this week for more details.

The place connected to a sugar mill is The Old Mill, and it still operates as a night club, but it's mostly for a younger , hip hop crowd.

Victor's New Hideout in Sub Base is listed as a nightclub, though more people recommend it as a restaurant.

Some organization is always sponsoring some type of evening activity for adults, and that's where most of the locals party. The event usually covers meal and dancing, and is usually a fundraiser of some sort.

There's also a Fri night party at the Crown Bay dock with live bands. I hear HUNDREDS show up, and dance along the waterfront.

I am curious about the nightclub the OP mentioned in the first post: 2 levels, glass walls, in the mountains: WHAT was that? and where was it?

Likely the club with glass walls,2 levels, pool outside was one of the many incarnations at the Contant Great House although a short lived club at the old VI Hilton also could be where they went.

More than likely Jimmy'z at Contant Great House which turned into Club Z. Many glass windows and three floors actually.

Club Z!!!! That is exactly the place that I went to many moons ago. I just couldn't remember the name. It was beautiful, such a wonderful view at night. It is a shame that no one has replaced that club. It appeared to be very popular. Thanks for all of the post. I look forward to my trip in November.

Hey, we are young...is the Old Mill still open for partying on Friday nights? I heard it has a sunken dance floor.

Oh Lord lololol 😮

I am nervous about this latitude 18, we are renting a car and there don't seem to be any clear directions on how to get there and driving there at night on STT roads seems scary.

Take a "dry run" during daylight hours. It's not bad - you just have to drive very slowly over the rough parts but it's not a big deal and driving on STT in general at night isn't very scary at all. Have fun!
