Hello Sherry,

The main streets of Charlotte Amalie; Waterfront and Main Street can be navigated by wheelchair. Some alleys are small and the ride through might be bumpy - but not all of them. If you are coming on a land vacation you should try to go into town on a day with few cruise ships or else there will be a lot of people walking around - making it hard to move about the wheel chair for you and for them -the sidewalks are not very big and when there are a lot of ships in the sidewalks get crowded. If you want to see the historical sites in Charlotte Amalie you will encounter difficulty. You can take a taxi to Blackbeards - have them take you right up to the gate and then you will be fine. Fort Christian would also be doable but not any further then the first level as other levels are by narrow steps. Other sites like 99 steps can be seen from the road - the road is a semi-short by steady incline - might be tough.

Have a great time.
