I am in a wheelchair. My wife and I will be traveling to St John from Sept 18-Sept 25th. We are staying in a condo and will be renting a car.. We have been to the other two USVI and enjoy the Caribbean. I realize that wheelchair accessibility is poor on the islands but we are seasoned traveler's and always make the best of our trip.My wife is interested in snorkeling, hiking and of course shopping, I enjoy looking at the beaches, good regional food and lots of rum drinks!!. I would also like to go sailing and sight seeing on the island. Can anyone check out the dinning spots to find out which places are the most wheelchair friendly. Does anyone know of any sailing charters that would take a Wheelchair on board? We are excited about our trip and look forward to seeing some beautiful scenery and meeting some interesting people.
Thanks for your help!
Scott
One place that you might check out is Aqua Action at Secret Harbor. They are certified PADI instructors that are also certified to train wheelchair bound students. Enjoy your time in the islands.
Check out Cinnamon Bay. I believe they have a "sand" chair available. One problem with that time is that a lot of boats will not be available. I was thinking of a cat like Bad Kitty, but they usually are in the yard for September.

Secret Harbour is STT and the OP is going to STJ.

Oops, missed the "St John" in the original entry. But then again it isn't like St Thomas is all that far from St John
