Hi.
Can someone please tell me what the customs fee is when you take the ferry from STJ to JVD? Has anyone taken the morning ferry over to JVD for the day? Can you please describe what we can expect? I can't find any information about this fee but have seen it mentioned when you take a private charter over.
Thanks!
Mary
When you take a regularly scheduled ferry to the BVI from the USVI, the ferry fee includes everything. What you WILL need as of January 08 is a passport in order to travel between the USVI and the BVI. Charter boats which ply the route between the USVI and the BVI also include in their price per person the customary entry fees.
I hope I've answered your question. Cheers!
Does this mean that the $45 ferry fee to Tortola INCLUDES the $25 customs? If so, that is really a GOOD deal.
Actually, it's not the same fee as when you arrive by chartered or crewed boat. So you'll save some money. When we did this to Tortola a couple of years ago, my mind vaguely remember that it was about 5.00ish dollars, but none the less included in the fare
We are taking a private water taxi from Red Hook (STT) to Jost at the end of January. The private water taxi quoted a customs fee of $15.00 per person. I remember last year taking the public ferry from Red Hook to Jost and the total fee for both my husband and I was $50.00 and that included the customs fee (that was also a round trip ticket). Hope that helps. Jill
I called Inter Island and was told the fee to go to/from STJ to JVD is $45 plus a $5 departure tax. The cost to go to/from Virgin Gorda is $50 plus a $5 departure tax. That seems like a great deal to me!
