Friends of my family named their boat "The Boobie Trap". They have 4 daughters..... And yes, ahem, you can clearly see what the double o's are on the back of the boat.....

Growing up our boat was named the "Lazy Aros"- a play our last name, Lazzaro.

Years ago, whilst sititng on my boat "Saturday Clothes" at anchor in San Diego Harbor, I often observed a once-proud powerboat up on the beach, listing awkwardly to starboard, sinking deeper into the mud and becoming more guano-covered at every visit. The name on the stern -- "Entropy." (No lie.)

Had some friends with a boat named "Whiskey Biscuit." They thought that was a cool name, then found out years later that they had misunderstood the reference -- the first word should have been "Whisker". (Just another dirty joke gone bad.)

I bought our sailboat 3 days after my daughter was born.. I though long about a name..

I am a bit silly, so I named the boat "Santa Banana". It just rolls off the tongue.. And it sounds right to me.

My dad always named his boats after me . . . .Xavie 1, 2, and 3, which I always thought was neat then he went and named his sailboat Southern Comfort (he's not a drinker).

I named my 1st boat "Sun Spot Baby" and then moved to the VI (with my boat). See Bob Segar to find out the meaning. . . .

The last boat I didn't name, the newest boat, I'm trying to think of a name now. . . . C Urchin. . .. nah. . . . C Nymph . . . nah. . . I'm stuck, can't come up with one.

I'm still naming my boat "B L 0 W J0B" - even though Islander keeps changing my posts so you can't read it!! Hmph 😉

C'mon Islander - it refers to sailing - and the winds blowing the sailboat around.

Blu - LOVE IT! of course, don't know what to name a power boat though, can't quite use yours since it refers to sailing!

By the way, congats on the engagement, wedding will be in STT??? and your trip reports were great! And yeah, it was good to meet you finally, hopefully we can see each other on the next trip too.

I'm at the present time, stuck at Raleigh Durham airport trying to get home to Houston. 7 hours worth of delays on Thursday to get here. . . hmmm, this east coast traveling is driving me crazy. . . supposedly a big storm in Philly right now delaying everything. How's the weather up there?

Hey C-

Storm, here? Dry as a bone - but the sky is awfully gray and the humidity is great for the skin.

Not sure about the wedding. Right now we're trying to decide on another adventure - Thailand or Austrailia - with the girls. We might throw the names in a hat and see which locations wins the draw. I'm for Thailand and Geoff is for Australia's outback.

No, the name won't do for a stink pot! LOL

Thailand gets my vote - the outback with 9 or 10? year old girls? ? of course, neither one would be unhappy as long as there's a pool where ever you go!

Well, finally took the time to take a peek at this post, how fun!!!!!
The boat that we have and share with Jeff's buddy is named Fruit Loops! I hate that name and tried peeling the letters off, but they are stuck forever!! lol! Now, I read that it's bad luck to change the name! What's up with that? I think it's bad luck to KEEP the name!!! lol!
Blu, you go girl!!! What a name! Just remember that after you get married! lol! Actually, just when did this engagement happen? Did I miss a paragraph in your trip report? Congrats!

ps- Dream Weaver was done by Gary Wright, not Aerosmith!!!!!!

If I had a boat I would name it the Wet Dream. Now get your minds out of the gutter, it has always been a dream of mine to own a boat and water is wet. HA!

Sherri,

You are correct, Dream weaver was done by Gary Wright not Aerosmith. I guess some of the stuff I did in the 70's does affect long term memory.

How about naming your boat "efen".

I will use it in a sentence so you can get the full affect " Junior get in the efen boat" or "That's my efen boat over there"

Ruprek,
Hope you weren't offended, big Aerosmith fan here and yes, we sure did loose some brain cells back then!!!! lol!
Only thin efen, is the efen cost of boat storage!! It's work to get the boat in and out of the water, but the rewards are worth it!

Sherri...you're not kidding about the cost of a boat. We have a 18footer in NJ and just racking it there is about 2500.00 a year. I'd like to get rid of it and just rent boats when we go down on the weekend. Husband loves it though...I love the beach, guess where we end up most of the time..the boat!

I have owned four boats in my life. The first was right out of college a 17 Foot runabout with no name. The second boat was a 20 Foot cuddy named "The Meaning of Life" the third was a 27 Foot cruiser named "Priorities" and the current boat is a 30 Foot cruiser called "Caribbean Soul". It is currently for sale. The next one will be a sale boat in the Caribbean hopefully a live aboard. We are seriously considering calling the next one "Latitude Changer"

Boats aren't cheap and my Dad owned several (in FL) and spent lots on them. Had several names that I can't repeat here! Maybe that's why we've never owned one. In CO you drive a boat from one end of a lake to the other in 15 mins. LOL! But there is one of the best sail boat sales office in Lyons CO and it's landlocked! This State amazes me!
