Okay, so I've read all the reviews...and I know everyone has their own opinion as to which daysail is the best, so I guess it just comes down to preference...but if I were to take a poll... what would you rate as your top 3 daysails in St Thomas with regards to price/snorkeling/food/ and of course the captain & crew - the overall experience! We are going next week...there are 4 of us in our group...we'd prefer one of the boats that takes out smaller groups, but that is not a necessity! Also, do we have to book this before we go?

I don't know of any daysail that doesn't do a good job - this time of year you should definitely cotact the boat ahead of time if you have a particular vessel you want to be on - especially if you want the 6 passenger boats - quite a few of the boats are still either gone, on vacation, in the yard, doing maintenance etc. in Sept. and Oct.

Exit zero is right on with their recommendation. During the off season months (which also happens to be part of hurricane season) some charter boat owners head out of the area or take time to do renovations etc. So definitely start sending some emails and making some calls to see which boats are in the water and available for the dates you will be on island.

Also, along the same line with the charter recommendation if there were any restaurants that you had found that you really wanted to have dinner at you will want to give them a call. Sometimes restaurant owners take a couple weeks off for vacation or to do repairs etc. during the off season months. This applies to St. Thomas somewhat but more so to St. John.

I would highly recommend Captn Bobby and the Rumbaba if they are available at this time of year. We have used him twice and both times the highlight of our trip. He only takes 6 passengers and the food is AMAZING. Hope you have a great time whoever you choose.
