What age can you gamble in St. Croix? I heard the drinking age is 18 but the gambling age is 21.

Hello Marsha,

What you wrote is correct. 21 for the casino on St. Croix, 18 for a drink in a bar/store!

Hello Kelly,

Yes the only casino in the USVI is on St. Croix; the Divi Carina Bay Resort and Casino.

There are now some slot machines in St Thomas at certain bars/restaurants. I know the Green House has them (I doubled my money in one of the machines)

Caribbean Saloon in Red Hook has them also. I gave them all my money.

I received a job offer to work in St. Croix this past week. What is the night life like and is it a fun place for a 25 year old to live?

Kelly,
Red Hook is the population center at the east end of the island also known as "country". Years ago it was a quiet and sleepy part of town known for a bit more affulence than "town". These days it is becoming a congested area but there are lots of bars, restuarants, housing, etc. out that way. Look at today's paper (www.dailynews.vi) for some information on the latest construction planned. Red Hook is also one of the two ferry terminals between the BVI and St. Thomas and St. Thomas and St. John.

Hello Kelly,

From St. John by ferry you can visit St. Thomas, Tortola, Jost Van Dyke and Virgin Gorda. Check out the ferry schedules at
