Below (under "Crime") Islander asked me what I do when visiting St. Croix. Since, I'll be there in 28 hours and 10 minutes I've got the following plans:

Lie by the pool at the Hotel Caravelle until Happy Hour at Rumrunners.
Dinner at Bombay Club - not an East Indian restaurant, it's named after the gin
Sunday brunch at the Cane Bay Beach Bar, then lie on the beach
Drinks at Off the Wall
Dinner at Tutto Bene
Shopping all over Christiansted, especially at Jan Mitchell's for glass and the Natural Jewel for unusual pieces.
Walk to the Gallows Bay Marina for breakfast at The Golden Rail
Lunch at Christine's Cafe
Breakfast at Shenanigan's - dirt cheap, delicious and squeaky clean
Gotta stop at the Domino Club - maybe to see the beer drinking pigs (yet again), but definitely to pick up some mamawana, the homemade spiced rum.
Dinner with friends at their home overlooking the Columbus landing site
Crab races
Lunch or dinner at Luncheria, very decent Tex/Mex, also dirt cheap
Dinner at Kim's for local food
Take in a museum or historical site, haven't decided which one for this trip
Lots of time in the sun
Halloween party all over Christiansted
Maybe try Savant this time for dinner, it has a fabulous reputation
Much limin'

My trip reports tend to be reallllll long-winded so I'm not sure you'd want me to post it. I'll have one available after I recover from the trip 🙂 though if anyone is interested.

Joanne,

Sure we'll be interested or at least I will be as I will be going to St. Croix for the first time in a few months.
Where are the crab races?
Also, thanks for the name of a Tex-Mex place as I might have withdrawls without my mexican food.

YL

Joanne,
I noticed your post regarding the beer drinking pigs. I have to second your statement. My husband and I are moving down to St. Croix in the Spring/Summer. We visited for the first time in July and was taken to see them. Wow was that hilarious! I suggest anyone visiting to not miss that attraction! If anything, just to get a laugh! And that mamawana, WHEW!!! - I married a Marine and he couldn't even get one shot down!!!! Potent stuff!
Enjoy your visit!

Going to St Croix for the 1st time been to other islands but never here. Staying at a Villa with Two other Couples. Looking to get a driver to get around rather than rent a van. This way we can drink and party and not have to worry. Looking to fish for a day and go to Buck island another. Any suggestions would be greatly appreacted. We are going to be there last week in Nov. 1st weel in Dec.

THANKS
