This forum that my husband visits started a post asking everyone to submit pictures of their other interests. It is a "car" forum and some of the pictures people sent in were quite interesting. I thought that it might be interesting to see pictures of other things that the vinow forum addicts do. Here are a few things that my family does.

Other than this board and the VI's in general, my hobbies/interests are:

1) Checking AA websites obsessively for fare sales to the VI
2) Checking www.cheapcaribbean.com obsessively for resort/package sales in the VI
3) Talking with my friends at the local wineries to try to organize a trip to the VI. Drinking is conducive to making and accepting plans of grandeur
4) Shopping for clothes/shoes so that any sales I find can be translated into a "look, honey, I saved $20 on these shoes, so that is money that can be put into another VI trip"

I am a sick individual.

Landlocked -- your post had me rolling! ha ha! So funny -- I had to copy it and send it to my husband and best friends so that they will have proof that I'm NOT the only one who obsesses about the USVIs! I'm constantly checking the travel sites for good deals -- have airfare purchased for the February trip and we haven't even done the November trip yet! I'm guilty of telling my best friend to wait until her husband has had a few so we can get him to commit to the next St. John-group-trip! It works like a charm! Worst of all, whenever my husband wants to buy something I don't agree with I say, "honey, wouldn't you rather spend that money on something in the islands?" I get him thinking about boat rentals, Jost, and Bushwackers and he turns into a super-saver!

I'm an avid runner. I run 5K and 10K races almost every week. I have completed 2 half marathons and 1 full marathon- Austin! I would like to complete more long distance races, but finding the time to train is really difficult! It tends to cut into my Friday night margaritas!!! 🙂

LLBL,
I like your thinking! I am actually getting like that too. I can turn every thought into something related to th USVI. Even though I Iike doing other activities, I would probably give up the things in the above pictures if that would mean more trips to STJ. Unfortunately the rest of my family doesn't share my obsession. I am hoping that our family trip coming up next year will convince at least one of them to become obsessed with me. I wish that I would have discovered STJ when I was younger. I didn't discover it until I was 45. I was just satisfied with going to the Florida Keys and didn't think I could afford anything else.

TrevorK,
I like your idea of giving my husband a few cocktails antdthen talking him into trips to STJ. I will have to try that! 🙂

I like hearing about everyone else's other interests. How about some pictures of you doing some of those things??

I'm a Sweet Adeline in Dallas, Texas. With the Richtones. It takes up a ton of time.

But we still manage to get down to our condo on STT 3-4 times a year.
