I saw where AT&T was listed, but did not see anymore. Anyone know?

Thanks!

Verizon will work but you'll be roaming. The last time I used it in the VI it cost me $0.69/min.

I bought a AT&T go phone for $15.oo and a go phone card to use when
I visit. I called verizon and they said it would be 1.99 a minute for calls, but daya and texting will not be extra. So you might want to look into some type of go phone so you won't have a huge cell phone bill later.

We have ATT and have used it on STT many times without a roaming charge or long distance ( we're on the nationwide plan)

Yeah i'm thinking about buying a prepaid verizon or AT&T. I have Tmobile. I'm sure it doesn't work there. Thanks everyone for letting me know.

Verizon does not have any towers in the USVI and in my conversations with Verizon users I have always been told that they have to pay $1.99 per minute when in the USVI. There may be a plan through Verizon that makes the per minute charge less, but you would need to speak with a Verizon representative to figure that out. Otherwise, a pre-paid Verizon phone would be sort of expensive to use here.

Our regular returning guests, who don't have AT&T cell phones, have solved the communications problem by having people call them on a Innovative land-line that we provide. Then they use either Skype or Google's Internet Phone Service over the available Wi-fi to handle their outgoing communications, with the additional plus of being able to use a video connection when talking to family.

My phone has a wifi connection for calling. Not sure how that will work.

On my iPhone I have the Skype Application installed so that when I am in Europe or areas outside of the AT&T Nationwide plan I just join a Wi-Fi site and make Skype calls to avoid the International billing rates. If your phone can utilize either the Skype or Google Internet calling applications you should be able to use them for outgoing calls. I know Skype can be used for local calls within the USVI but a guest was unable to use his Google service to contact a local number when he was here in March.

Really? That's good to know. I went to Tmobile's website and I couldn't find any coverage for the VI. Thanks for the info.

I actually called T Mobile when she was there to make sure and they said it was free, along with Puerto Rico. We never were charged.

That's great! Thanks for the info. I actually went into TMobile to pay my bill and saw a coverage chart and there was the VI. I was so glad.

Be careful! We have AT&T. They say they cover St. John. But if your phone does not say AT&T don't use it. We have had $2,000 and $3,000 bills on return home. Sometimes the phone will pick up a British tower or a cruise ship. They did take off our extra charges since they had told us we could use it there, but after 2 times acted like they wouldn't do it again. This April we had them put a block on roaming charges since the first nigt we were there we got a text saying that data usage would be something like $19 per whatever. This was not a nice way to be awakened at midnight the first night of vacation. Good Luck!

I was assured by Tmobile that I would have coverage in certain areas and that I would not be charged for roaming or anything. We will see! lol
