Westin is gorgeous you will have a great time. The grounds are nice. What else do you want to know? Anything in particular?

Check out TUG (Timeshare Users Group) - Google TUG - free to join - Search TUG using keywords (eg. Westin St John, WSJ) - WSJ owners love the place - I will be there in June
Enjoy

PS - Stu - haven't forgotten - still working on it...

This is an excerpt from a trip report I posted on Tripadvisor. It describes our Villa and the Westin from a family's perspective.

We rented a 1 BR villa for a family of 4 in the 33 section, the farthest away from all amenities. One son slept on the pull out couch and the other slept on a roll away bed. The villa seemed clean, had a kitchen, and a washer and dryer (the feature we used the most). The only issue we had is that most villas change over on the weekend so the room wasn’t clean when we arrived mid week. Housekeeping took care of this as we went down to the beach for lunch. Lunch was good, typical resort food (OK to good) and prices (high). After lunch the boys changed into their suits and went in the water. They loved the two trampolines that were connected by a moonwalk. The kids (mostly 10 and older) run across the moonwalk and push each other off. My boys loved it but we kept an eye on them, especially since you couldn’t see them if they fell off the back. There are no lifeguards. There was an iceberg that my older son could climb but my 9 year old never made it up.

Overall, the resort was very nice. It was just a 5 minute ride to Cruz Bay. There were mostly families when I was there (Easter week) and plenty at the pool. You could get a quiet drink on the beach if you were looking to get away from children (we weren’t). The beach wasn’t as clear as the other beautiful beaches on the island and had sea weed on a few days butit was still nice. However, the boys just played there late in the afternoon after we visited other beaches on the island. The boys used the Teen Center once (arcade) and were the only two children in there. We went to the deli which was convenient for a bagel for breakfast and pizza and sandwiches the first night we were there. I’m not a big shopper but they have a Little Switzerland jewelry store (didn’t go in) and a nice clothing/resort wear store. There are many activities to keep children occupied at the Westin. Ask for their activity sheet. They go out of their way to keep the children amused. The boys went to the iguana feeding where 15 iguanas emerge when food is brought. They also went to a “Dive-In” movie, which was Shrek II, Easter evening. Families could sit in lounge chairs or go in the pool to watch the movie. The resort is small enough (compared to others we have been to) that children can make friends easily. Our kids would have been happy staying at the resort but we made sure we explored the island every day.

If you are staying in a villa on the mountain, it really is a difficult, uphill walk, and I like to walk. Some carts will go right by you but they are usually workers that are picking up luggage or doing something else. Otherwise, htere are carts to ransport guests. Since we rented a jeep, we would often park near the lobby when going to the beach or pool and drive up to our villa without waiting for a cart.

Finally, the villas share a smaller private pool which was quiet and seldom used.
