Hi....if anyone is interested in renting a renovated 3BR villa at the Westin St John for Labor Day week, September 1-8, 2007, let me know.

It sleeps up to 10 people, has a private pool & spa in the gated courtyard.

This is a good price, but make sure you get it posted on other sites. RedWeek, TUG, etc.

Don't forget that since this is a SVN Mandatory resort you can exchange into other SVN resorts - or if you bought from SVO you can convert to StarPoints (not a good deal, but an option).

The Westin will rent out for you also, but will not get you much. You can call someplace like Holiday Homes on STJ and see if they will rent for you.

You may also find someone to do a direct exchange with you on TUG (Timeshare Users Group, www.tug2.net)

Thanks for all of the info! I dropped the price to 2250 on e-bay to see if I could get a quick sale. Basically my husband and I intend to sell this week and use the money to rent something during a more convenient time. We are both in school and I have finals due by August 13th, so we can leave San Diego that evening. Then we promised to pet sit for our neighbors while they are in Hawaii the week of the 20th, so we really want to be home by the 20th/21st. They will probably watch our pets while we're away, so this timeframe is the only thing that seems to work. We really weren't even going to go this year...just rent the week and forget about it. But we've been trying to get pregnant for over a year now and I think we just really need a nice relaxing vacation.

So I'm crossing my fingers that we can rent out our week in time for us to book a small private villa in August. It definitely is a great price, so maybe we'll get lucky!

Crystal, how many weeks do you have there? I've seen you offering quite a few weeks on here. Wondering how you got so lucky as to have so many weeks to sell!! Lucky you! Maybe it's all the same week. Either way, this is a good deal!

We have two weeks in a row...well, actually, my mom is the primary owner, but she put me on the deed so that I could manage everything for her...and this is one we have been trying to rent for a few months. This is our first year owning and there's a bit of a learning curve when it comes to marketing, I think. I'm so amazed that people pay what they do for regular rooms and timeshares when renting directly from the Westin. I, too, think this is a really good deal, especially compared to the regular prices....so I really am crossing my fingers. Hubby and I have our eye on a couple of smaller private villas right now and if we get this rented in time, we may be able to book one of those. It just doesn't feel right to possibly miss one of our annual island visits...we're so hopeful everything works out!

On top of the whole babymaking thing, hubby will be graduating and receive his commission as a naval officer at the end of the year. That means it's back to a ship for three years. And back to the ship means a lot of time away from eachother...he'll often just be home on weekends and will deploy for 6-8 months every year and a half. Being that he and I are sort of attached at the hip and have spent the better part of every single day for the past three years together, we're dreading the next three years. So taking one last trip to our favorite island before getting back to "real life" may be more necessary than we realized.

Sorry...the week before was our first week. We have the last week in August and the first in September. However, we just rented the week! Yay...that means hubby and I are headed to St John!!!!!! Now I just need to find a super last-minute bargain on a private villa.

Are you renting a villa in Westin then or anywhere on the island? Just curious.

Crystal...

St John worked for us the "baby-makin' department" 😉 We're going back for our first trip in a year and nine months...if ya catch my drift. This time we're not looking to come home with a *souvenir*, however!

Have a great trip!

haha...you're the second person I have heard of that brought home such a souvenir. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Teresa - we're renting anywhere on the island. Our dates don't work out with the Westin timeframes. We're planning to arrive on 8/14 and depart on 8/21. We had our eye on "Island Time" but it just got booked yesterday. So now we're tossing around the idea of "Casa Yaya". We shall see...
