Weekend at Bernies was filmed in St Thomas? I'm going to have to get it out and watch.

Not much plot - great scenery. Filmed at the Ren but the beach scenes all look like Magens to me. Notice the artwork on the walls in the suite - it's all by Mitch Gibbs. I was pretty confused by the downtown shots - the market, the bank. And, at the end, when they are on the sailboat watching the Carnival parade come down Veteran's there is no cruise ship dock behind them. The short segment at night shot from Fungi's (I think) over toward the beach at the Ren looks very nice.

I enjoy watching the movie, but mostly cause I know it was filmed here!

The Mocko Jumbie parade seen was filmed on the waterfront and we were there as extras- FUN! They had real Playboy Bunnies on the boat on the waterfront! Yes, the hotel scenes were filmed at the Renaissance and beach scenes at Magen's- they had the whole end of the beach blocked off for themselves!!! Still fun to watch them.
The Scene were they pass the market going down the hill was done in front of what was then, Bryan's and is now North Drop- GOOD restaurant by the way! That is located on RT 37 going to Hull Bay. The scene with the old ruins and Jumbie scene was done in STJ, I believe, tho not sure at Annaberg Sugar Ruins.
Now, I too, am going to have to watch it AGAIN! 🙂
