Hi everybody! So I got myself a wedding consultant Tina at weddings the island way as recommended by Sherri thank you Sherri! she seems very nice and I'm confident that she will arrange everything great for me, but hopefully you guys can help me out with this!I spoke to Tina about our lunch reception as I was thinking we may have it on the beach but she recommended The Blue Moon cafe has anybody had a wedding reception there I would love to know how it went or even if you could email a picture to [email protected], My idea is that we would have a section to ourselves as there will be 50 guests travelling with us from Ireland(big Irish Families!!) where there would be a BBQ/ Buffet set up for the guests we were going to add a bar package also , and try and get a guy a steel pan drum player that sings also for the duration of the reception so that it will be all very relaxed and informal!Tina is going to look in to menus and bar packages for me I have had a look at there website and it looks cool but I want opinions as I am sooooo far away I don't have a clue and really need honest opinions!!!!Hope you can help, If anybody needs any advice on Ireland I can repay you by providing that information lol!

Hey Connie thanks , us Irish get awful worked up when not in control lol! Hey can I squeeze another bit of info out of you?Im having the cermony on Lindquist beach and the reception in Blue Moon cafe so how far is it between the two could our guests walk ,I just thinking that I have to arrange transport to pick 50 guests up at the port(and where is that!!) and drop to Lindquist and then drop to the Blue Moon and then back to the port aftre the reception how far from each other are all these places???

Lindqvist is a ten minute drive to Blue Moon and NOT a walk. A driver will arrange EVERYTHING for you from picking up you and your guests at dockside, getting them to Lindqvist on time, getting them to Blue Moon and then back to ship. These are things they're used to doing and not something you have to worry about.

Your wedding coordinator will be able to take care of all these details which is what they do! Trying to do all kinds of research from all those miles away is frustrating but now that you have the wedding site and the reception venue chosen, everything else will fall into place very easily. Relax! Cheers!

The chances of a hurricane in August are pretty slim but you may want to take out trip insurance just in case. The cost is pretty minimal.

Hi IrishBride, I have been reading your posts and chuckling to myself! I was you, getting all confused, the more research that I did. My advice to you is to listen to the locals when they say, take a deep breath and relax. Trust me, Tina does a great job! They definitely know what theyn are doing at Weddings the Island Way! We just returned my my daughter's wedding on Magens Bay - it was perfect and not crowded at all - the wedding was at 10:00 am to avoid the crowds and the heat! We had lunch at Blue Moon Cafe and it was very nice - great setting! Everything was perfect and I will post pictures soon!

And remember to relax and let Tina do the planning!

🙂 Nancy = a very happy MOM

My daughter is getting married there in November and we are having some time issues where the ceremony is going to take place and may need an alternative reception venue. Although Blue Moon is close by to us, I hadn't really thought about it until reading all these posts. Approximately, what would a late afternoon lunch/dinner buffet with bar and music (steel pan or something easy), or, dinner, bar and a little music run for about 25 people?

Thanks in advance. There sure are alot of weddings going on...........

Linda
