My fiancee and I are planning to get married on Megans beach in St Thomas in October. We have been to hundreds of web sites and tried to talk with people from the Island. It has been very hard to find a minister or church in St Thomas or find a minister that can perform the ceremony. We are also concerned about how we are going to get 30 people from the cruise ship to the beach and back without spending hundreds of dollars on taxi's. The car rental places only show mini vans and not a lot of pick up locations. We could sure you some advise, or some island natives to help with planning out a few details so that we dont have any problems on our big day.

Congrats! We got married at St. Peter's Mnt Greathouse overlooking Magens Bay last August and used Leslie Dawson and she helped us with all that stuff! Her website is http://www.perfectweddingsofstthomas.com or (888) 458-5752

I'll be happy to help as well! Our minister and transportation was great. Wouldn't have done it any other way!

Hello John,

Weddings in the islands are very common; several wedding planning businesses around to choose from. At the top of this page, above the books, click on St. Thomas and from the drop down menu choose Weddings... you will find a few planners there and some information on license/wedding in the VI. Some planners are officiates so can perform just the wedding ceremony without the other planning elements (limo, music, flowers, license) if that is what you want; basically a basic package.

Lots of churches here if you want a church wedding... no churches on Magens Bay though 🙂 so you'd need to chose one or the other. And seems you are pretty set on the beach.

Not much you can do about getting your 30 people to/from the beach wedding, its either taxi or several rental vehicles. I'd say figure around $350 or thereabouts for one safari taxi bus (they hold 20-25 people). Avis and Budget have rental car offices right accross from the cruise ship pier in Havensight, so quite easy to get to. Renting several mini-vans for 30 people would be more then the taxi.

Congrats & Happy Planning.

I think you would be able to rent a couple of safari vans to transport your guests. They seem to carry 20 or so each. Good luck!
