I'm thinking of getting married in St Croix -- advice, suggestions, thoughts from anyone?! I would greatly appreciate it!
Hello Michelle
My daughter was married on st croix 3 years ago this coming june.
She loved every minute of the wedding as did I and her mother her husband and the other 15 guests that attended. It was a simple but beautiful ceremony on davis beach located at carombola resort. Of course my daughter and wife worried about most of the details that go along with any wedding - they were here in the states a couple thousand miles away from where it's all going to happen and they didn't have any hands on control of their wants and needs. So they contracted a wedding coordinator. We used Mahal Kita. We did not have a single problem, She helped customize the wedding to the needs of my wife and daughter and handeled all of the required paperwork. Her website is www.stcroixweddings.net if your interested go to that site click on photo albums - there are a ton of pictures of several weddings - could give you a good handle on what island weddings look like. (katie and ben - my daughter and now son-in-law)
St Croix is a beautiful island - it has a lot to offer
Darn good choice for a wedding location- I hope you go thru with it

The Buccaneer also does weddings. Beautiful locale and we do about 60-70 weddings a year, so our wedding planner has lots of experience. The details are on the website - www.thebuccaneer.com.
In the interest of full disclosure, I work at the Buccaneer.
I know of weddings at Cane Bay (it was gorgeous), and of course there are numerous historic options for church weddings. A friend of mine got married in the courtyard at Pink Fancy (tiny wedding) and I've also seen weddings on the upper deck at the Hotel Caravelle.
Your best bet is to contact a wedding coordinator though to help with details. Why make yourself crazy?
Hotel on the Cay also does weddings. I twice planned to get married there but then woke up and was reminded that my bride of 34 years was indeed there and said I should have took her there about 30 yrs ago. Check with Peter. You couldn't go wrong there eiher.
