Hello Carolyn,

Do you have a preference for island? And what is your price range defination for Moderate (my moderatre might not be your moderate....)? What size wedding? Need a hotel for those attending the wedding also?

Great hiking on St. John and St. Croix. From St. Thomas; St. John and Water Island are just a very short ferry ride away so you can access hiking from there too. Biking isn't a big thing here because roads are steep... there is a bike tour on Water Island, St. Croix has some biking, there is a bike rental on St. Thomas and one (or two) on St. John but I haven't seen folks out biking for fun and on St. John or St. Thomas... for sport yes a couple times usually really early in the am before traffic picks up. Good food... lots of options. 🙂 Once you pick which island you want folks can give recommendations for restaurants.

We are getting married St John May 22. Planning to do it at sunset Trunk Bay. Any suggestions re: wedding dinner (we are having 8 people total)? Also any suggestions re renting a car, activities for the 4 days we are there, and anything else that would make this the perfect wedding day?

Mike,
Can't resist replying. I posted a trip report regarding my weddingmoon Jan. 8-14,likely a page or two back now. Trunk Bay at Sunset is total money, pally, no disappointments. The beach is wide and spacious, most likely she'll skip on down the wood ramp onto the soft sand rose petal strewn aisle to you and you'll weep, she'll be so lovely. Are you going through Stacy, Ceremonies of STJ? Seriously professional, can't say enough. Also, Mike, if you can, surprise her with a steel pan drummer, lovely music before, during and after--so worth the cash. Get professional photography and have someone you can trust shoot the video and you'll be pleased on the mainland. I just got my pics back and looking at the video and pics will get me through this snow. The camera is not my friend, but dude, I'm lovely there.

We had ZoZo's, which was our informal poll's top local recommend, but I heard Chloe and Bernards mentioned a few. ZoZo's martini delish on a balmy night. If they offer the little clams and sausage in tomato brodo, jump on it. Osso-bocco top drawer. Clientel on the day we were there, starting to fossil. Wondering if Panini Beach wouldn't be nice. What say you, locals?

We booked a villa and seriously recommend it to you. Rent the hardtop Wrangler. Snorkel, snorkel, snorkel. Skip Trunk. Hit Leinster & Waterlemon, the Lameshurs and I heard Cinnamon was silly with snorkeling. Don't skip Coral Bay area--the island is small and worth exploring thoroughly. Recommend Sweet's for a cold one after Lameshurs or Reef Bay trail. We had the place to ourselves and the man is low-key and relaxed.

Want something extra special? The day after your wedding, just you and her head over to the Baths for a day, whether ferry or daytrip. Your guest will be just as happy on the island w/o you, and it will be your two's little private getaway. You'll look back completely pleased. Not to be missed.

Best to you, pally. You couldn't have picked a sweeter spot for the event. Word to the wise.
