Hi. I am having my daughter's wedding July 2009 on St Thomas. We are staying at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef with approximately 60 wedding guests. I am looking for advice on a place to have a brunch the morning after the wedding. The wedding is Sunday night, brunch will be Monday morning. The Marriott can do it, but charges a huge venue price plus the cost of the food. Not looking to go too far away from the Marriott because of tranporting the guests, which is costly. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Wow! Doesn't look like too many people want to touch this one! lol! 60 people is a LOT and since you will have to transport people no matter what, I suppose distance shouldn't matter too much. This is a tough one tho. Only thing I can think of right now would be to try Blue Moon Cafe' at Secret Harbor. They can do a buffet style set up for you. It should be less expensive for you as well! Just plan for approx. 3 air conditioned Taxi vans to come for you, take you to Secret Harbor and then return to the Hotel. I can recommend someone for the taxi if you want to private message me. He can give you a quote for the price of that and once you get all of your pricing together, you can evaluate what would be your best choice. Good Luck!

East End Cafe also does a brunch...but that's in Red Hook - so transportation is still necessary.

I second Blue Moon - they're right on a beautiful beach and are used to catering wedding parties, Their website is www.bluemooncafevi.com. Cheers and have a wonderful time!

That would be 4 vans as they only carry 15! Safaris do about 26-30. Any place you find will probably be a special set up, as most brunching is done on Sundays.

Blue Moon does Brunch type set up for wedding parties as I have called them on it when I was planning a girlfriends wedding. Prices were very reasonable and they had differant menus available. Nice open air space and on the beach, can't beat it!

One option is to rent one of the sheds at Magens Bay and have a private caterer supply the food -- people could enjoy the beach before or after and transportation would be easily available. The St. Peter MT. Great House could be a venue you might want to check out as well.

I thank you all for your advice. Blue Moon sounds great. Not sure yet how many people have to go to airport that day, so didn't want to take them east to go west. Also, those not leaving yet, well I didn;t want to spend their day eating brunch, want to leave them free to do some fun thing. I would host the fun thing if I could think of something affordable.
But anyway, I thank you.
Oh, the wedding is at St Peter's Great House, so that's out for brunch.
I'm gonna check into bulue moon and see.
