Hello Everybody,

We are planning our wedding for either April or May 2005 at St. Thomas. Has anyone gotten married at Point Pleasant Resort and held their reception at the Agave Restaurant? We are planning a trip this July to meet with a few wedding coordinators and only have4 days to spend on St. Thomas. I was also wondering if anyone could recommend a wedding coordinator. Looks like we may have 50 + guests (not sure yet).

Recomendations and suggestions at other hotels/locations on ST. Thomas to hold a wedding would be very helpful.

The hotel we would like to stay at this July is Secret Harbour.

Wedding Coordinators I have so far:
Caribbean Occasions
Island Romance
Marriot coordinator

We don't want to get married on the beach. Interested in a Gazebo and to have our reception at a nice restaurant.

Also wondering how you go about booking hotel rooms for guests. I do not want them to spend over 150 a night.

Thanks for your feedback.

Lauren/NYC

Hello Lauren,

Congrats.

Agave Terrace - will you have the whole place to yourself? It a nice setting and restaurant. Of the businesses you mentioned Marriot does a nice job and their gazebo is lovely, not on the beach - its a garden type setting. Island Romance is good and I think they are flexiable about where the wedding can be held, I have seen several of their weddings at Emerald Beach and they looked nice. Not sure if Blackbeards has weddings held there but I think a afternoon/evening wedding poolside with the great view of Charlotte Amalie would be lovely and there is a restaurant on premises that can facilitate the reception. Secret Harbor is nice but would likely be a beach wedding not sure where else they would have it.

For room rates - look into group discounts. Marriot I believe has wedding/room packages.

Good Luck.

we are getting married at the Marriot in 1 and 1/2 months. I think we spoke before. I am getting married at the gazebo at the Marriot. Have you seen the picture yet of the gazebo? I have a great co ordinator there.

Lauren,
I've stayed at Point Pleasant, with dissapointing results. However it is a beautiful view from Agave' Terrace. Don't expect to have the limo pull up to the front door.... it's a little bit of a walk from the parking lot to the restaurant. About 35 to 40 feet down a winding trail. They have very good food and a very nice atmosphere. Parking for 50 people there would be a nightmare though. I can't say anything about weather or not to get married there, but I didn't see any kind of gazebo. They do have some kind of meeting room or maybe a wedding hall at the top of the mountain. I would guess that's where they have weddings, but I didn't look inside, so I can't comment on it.

My advise would be to check with Marriott..
