Hello!
My fiance and I are planning a wedding in St. Thomas and we're so excited! We haven't been back in years and when he proposed, we knew this is where we wanted to celebrate!
I'd love to get some advice on where to have our reception lunch/dinner. We'd like to get married on Lindquist Beach and it sounds like the best time of day to get married there is in the morning. I was planning on having a reception dinner but if we have the morning ceremony, it looks like it will be a reception luncheon. I have started working with a wedding planner who is great (!) and I was originally thinking about Oceana or Mafolie's for dinner but for lunch, I'm stuck. If we're on the east end, I'm thinking about Agave Terrace but I've seen so many mixed reviews about this restaurant. We'd love to be as close to the beach as possible for our reception, any advice?

It depends on the wedding date (high or low season) and the size of the guest list. Has your wedding planner recommended a venue for the reception?

We're planning on May 2010 and we've talked about Oceana but I believe they're only open for dinner. Do you recommend Agave Terrace? Any other suggestions?

agave terrace has been very nice each time i've been.

there's also "the room", which is part of the east end cafe complex. http://www.thecellarstthomas.com/theroom.html

Thanks Anita,
The Room has also been recommended. Do you know if this is close to water or the beach? I wanted a more of a patio feeling overlooking the water or the beach. Thanks for your recommendation!

no, the room is not on the beach, it is enclosed.

if you want to be on the water, perhaps you should consider blue moon cafe, http://www.bluemooncafevi.com/Bluemoon_events.htm

I don't believe Agave' Terrace is open for Lunch either. I agree with Blue Moon Cafe', awesome setting, roomy, and on the beach! Your coordinator can make these plans for you as mentioned, no problem!
Oh, and CONGRATS!!!!! (tu) All my best!
