We are taking a cruise Sept. 2005 and plan on getting married in St. Thomas on one of the beaches, very simple. I would like to know some of the better spots where we can then spend some time snorkeling. I have been looking at Magens & Blue Beards. Also does anyone have any opinions on all the wedding coordinators and ministers I've seen on the St. Thomas site? Thanks for any help.

Lisa -
We married while on a cruise in March 2003. While the cruise was in port at St Thomas, we went to St John to marry on Hawksnest Beach. I highly recommend this beach, but of course it is not on St Thomas. However, the courthouse you will use is on St Thomas (if marrying on St Thomas or St John).

Here is who we used:
Reception Catamaran (chartered): http://www.adventurervi.com/
Cake: http://www.stjohnchef.com/
Flowers: http://www.eastendflowershop.net/
Photographer: http://www.virginislandsphoto.com/
Videographer: http://www.youmaynow.com/
Coordinator: http://www.usviwedding.com/
Minister: Rev. Emmanuel Jaggernauth

We almost didn't go with a coordinator since it can all be booked on your own (thanks to the internet). However, I was afraid of the "what ifs" that can happen (and have happened) on a cruise ship... such as weather, skipped port, mechanical problems, etc. If something DID happen, I wanted one phone call to make if so, and not be stressed about it all. Of course, in September, that is considered hurricane season, so definitely check into wedding insurance just inc ase. Email me if you want a full review. Also, there are many brides who are marrying (or have married) on St Thomas while on a cruise - you might want to also check out this cruise message board if you don't get the replies you are looking for. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31

That is so awesome you are marrying in the USVI!! You will NOT be disappointed!! 🙂

I second the wedding coordinator. I set up a vow renewal through www.usviwedding.com. Stacy is great, she took care of everything for me. We even ran into her later that evening at Woody's and she bought us a drink.

Go check out the site and look under vow renewals for my recommendation. My email is there also for you to ask any more questions.

I also used Stacy Mulcare through www.usviwedding.com - the service was spectacular and very very professional. The photographer is great as well as the videographer. She also has packages that include flowers, isle runners, cake - everything you could possibly need...definately go with a coordinator, it made planning a wedding so far away so much easier.

Hi,
How did you get to St John's from the cruise ship dock?

Taxi to Red Hook to catch the ferry to St.John, or catch the ferry to St.John, from downtown Charlotte Amalie.

I am also a photographer and would shoot a small wedding if interested.
