Hi,
Can someone tell me from history does it rain a lot the first week of July?
Thank you!
Hello Ann,
No, not a lot. For the first week of July, you should be enjoying highs of 86, possible low of 73 with a slight chance of rain showers that would produce from .094-.1 inch of rain a day. 😉
I found a table with average precipitation & temperatures for St. John over 17 years for each day. You can find it at http://cirrus.dnr.state.sc.us/cgi-bin/sercc/cliNORMt.pl?vi1348.
More feedback...
It doesn't really rain a lot here during any particular week. If you go by month, the rainiest months are November, October, September, August and May - in that order. That’s not really a rainy season in the sense of expecting rain daily but those are the months that we expect more rain than other months because historically that is when we do get more. Also the months where we've had record breaking rainfall like 18 inches in one month have been in that Sept-Nov time frame. Keep in mind 18 inches in one month is not typical... its a record. St. John averages 45.31" yearly. January-March are our dryer months, not that we don't get any rain but we just don't get much. July falls sort of in the average/middle area. Again keep in mind the difference between what I am calling dry months and rainier months is only 2-3 inches for the month! There is a weather section on this site with more information, averages if you want to read more https://www.vinow.com/usvi/weather.php.
Happy Planning!
