I will be in STJ from May 8-15. Can anybody tell me what the weather is usually like around that time in May?8-)
I'll be there the begining of May too and I'm hoping the weather is goodl Last year it rained the first 2 week of May almost non-stop so I'm crossing my fingers that we don't get a repeat of that weather pattern. That kind of weather is pretty unusual for May but it is a 'rainy' month. Pray for sunshine.
what could you do about if it was bad?

I will recommend using a site like www.weathercarib.com which is produced in the VI and has many useful links both predictive and real time -- also you can watch some of the webcams on island for a daily look at current conditions - the weather in May is usually the very pleasant normal VI weather.
The weather throughout the world has been whacky this past year and we've had our share. Last May was indeed very rainy for two weeks straight which was very unusual and just a couple of weeks ago (even more unusual) we had a week of really not much rain but overcast skies and some drizzle. The "norm" is beautiful with occasional swift and short showers which keep everything green and our cisterns full but, who knows! I agree with exit zero that the weathercarib site is much better than any other rather more generic weather forecasting site. Cheers!
We've been on STJ in May for the past 6 years; the weather has been consistently great -- sunny and in the mid-to-upper 80s with an occasional brief afternoon shower. A great time to go in my experience. But as Diana & STT Resident said above, last year was a strange, rainy time. Let's keep our fingers crossed for great weather this year. Enjoy
When you are on STJ nothing else matters, I never listen to the weather reports while here.
