We leave for St. John on Wednesday and I've been checking the weather forecasts. One forecast site says there is a 40 percent-50 percent chance of rain everyday we're scheduled to be there. I've read about rain in the Virgin Islands before and understand that a 40 percent chance of rain does not mean it will rain everywhere all day. But I'm still a little worried. Do we need to pack our rain gear?
Thanks,
NCNT
I too am curious about this.
I am assuming that it just means passing showers may come by in the early morning or evening, and if they do they pass pretty quickly. Is this a correct assumption?
This is an FAQ!! This is the weather report for the whole region. There is a 40% chance of rain across St. Thomas, St. John and further afield. If it is raining it will very frequently be dry over in Coral Bay, 20 minutes away. Do not worry!!
Rain gear? Snorkel!!

Great, thank you. I just needed to be able to reassure my husband!
