Hello, we'll be coming to St.Thomas this Wednesday on vacation making it our 19th year to the Island. I was wondering if anyone has a grip on the weather conditions for this coming week & next. I heard there was something brewing in the Caribbean...should we be concerned??

I haven't heard of any concerns out there, but it only takes a day or two to develop. Here is an excerpt from the Weather Chanel's website:

"A tropical low located about 400 miles east of the Windward Islands has seen an increase in organized shower and thunderstorm activity and is quickly strengthening into a tropical depression. This tropical low is currently moving to the west-northwest at 10-15 mph towards the northern Antilles. An Air Force Reserve Reconnaissance Aircraft is scheduled to investigate this system on Saturday.

(My guess is that this will be North of us by the time it gets this far West)

Elsewhere in the Atlantic, showers and thunderstorms continue to persist north and northeast of Puerto Rico. This area of disturbed weather is moving off to the west towards the Bahamas and will be monitored for development over the next couple of days. "

Keep your eye on the weather channel's Tropical Update at :50 past the hour. Otherwise, plan for:

High: 89
Low: 80
Chance of showers: 30%
Easterly tradewind breeze at 5-10 kts

EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!!!

Weather.com is so discouraging concerning St. Thomas weather. Looking at a month-long outlook, it shows nothing but thunderstorms every day. Let's hope there is just some rain every day, but mostly sunny skies...

Like I said, here is the forecast for the next month:

High: 89
Low: 80
Chance of showers: 30%
Easterly tradewind breeze at 5-10 kts

EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!!!

The month after that? Well, it'll look like this:

High: 88
Low: 78
Chance of showers: 30%
Easterly tradewind breeze at 5-10 kts

EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!!!

By February it'll look like this:

High: 86
Low: 74
Chance of showers: 30%
Easterly tradewind breeze at 5-10 kts

EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!!!

Karen,
You've been coming to the islands for 18 years and you're fretting over the weather? Shame on you. Have you learned nothing in all that time. Relax. The sun, she gonna come up tomorrow. Come down and enjoy.
