*Hi. Could you tell me what the average and normal wind strength is likely to be in the BVIs in mid August? Would you go on a sailing and snorkelling holiday then? Thanks v much. Janet Dee

Be sure to watch the "Tropical Update" on the Weather Channel at :50 after each hour everyday for a few days before you come, just in case something is brewing. Trip cancellation insureance would proabably be wise.

As for the wind. If there are no tropical systems close to us, the average is usually an Easterly trade wind at 10 kts. Perfect for sailing!!
