We will be traveling to STT Jan. 7 - 14th. This is our first trip to VI and I'm so excited. Can anyone tell me what the temperature usually averages about then? Is it sunny right now down there? (I live in Tennessee) We are staying at Bluebeard's Beach Club. Does anyone know if that is a decent place? Do the rooms have an ocean view? Thanks for your help!! 🙂

Is the temp in the 80's too? How cold does it get down to at night? Do I need to bring my jacket and some jeans? I usually check the weather on the internet but have heard that it wasn't always accurate. We are also renting a car when we land. What is the price of gas there? Thanks!!

hi Camille

The day temps are now ranging from around 79-84 depending on whether its cloudy or raining, or sunny.

Evening temps are in the range of 74-78 depending on if its rainy or windy AND also if you are up on a mountain or not. I would bring a light jacket (or long sleeved shirt) and jeans for the evening.
Price of gas is now around $2 per gallon on STX, prices are slightly higher or lower depending on where you get your gas and if its regular or premium. I think St Thomas prices are still higher than St Croix prices, maybe someone on STT will report with current gas prices.

Here's a great website that shows actual local weather and radar:
http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ifps/MapClick.php?CityName=Christiansted&state=VI&site=SJU

Enjoy!

I haven't yet gotten cold enough on St. Croix in the past two years to feel the need for long pants. A light rain coat now and then if it's coming down hard in September, maybe.

I paid $2.19 today for regular unleaded gas.

Camille: Don't listen to the Crucians! 😉 We pay $2.85+ on St Thomas for gas! The day time temps are in the low to mid-80s, night time temps low to mid-70s, as islandjoan mentioned. That is pretty much standard tropical weather for winter. Occasional brief showers, usually in the early morning (4-5 am) to keep everything fresh! If you sit in the sun all day, then go out to dinner in the evening, you may feel a bit of a chill. Also some of the indoor restaurants are way over air-conditioned. Usually a light sweater, wrap, etc is enough.

Wow, gas is a little more expensive there! Are bugs an issue this time of year? Do I need to bring some repellent? Is anyone familiar with Bluebeards Beach Club condos? Are they pretty nice? I heard it was approximately 8 miles from the airport. We are flying into Cyril King Saturday afternoon. We're bringing our birth certificates just in case we travel over to the BVI. Will we be able to use that or should we have passports in order to get back? If so, then we we'll just have to forgo that because we don't have passports. What are your suggestions for nightspots or attractions?

Well.....IMHO....November is a "wet" month. You do have some years that November doesn't rain a lot but normally the USVI gets a lot of rain in Nov. And, I'm not just talking 15 minute showers periodically. I'm talkin' all day - multiple days - of rain.

Yeah, rojako is right about the November rains! They seem to occur more in the first 2 weeks of the month, at least they have in the 5 years I have been on STX. But there's really no way to predict things with any kind of accuracy, but yeah, there have been multiple days of nothing but rain so if you're set on November, plan accordingly with your location!

Camille: You might want to start a new post with Bluebeard's Beach Club in the title. There is a frequent poster here who has a close personal relationship with BBC!! 😉

We paid $2.98 per gallon in STT last week. That seemed about the average around the island.
