My boyfriend and I planned a vacation to St. Thomas for next week Aug. 7th - Aug. 12th, but we see there is some kind of storm brewing. All the weather apps I've checked have said there would be a 60% chance of rain everyday. Should we cancel? How's the weather?
One brief tropical wave passed through yesterday. A little rain but nowhere near what was predicted and today is back to sunny skies. I'm happy to give you the same advice I've been dispensing for decades - stop reading weather forecasts and just pack plenty of sunscreen and Deet-containing insect repellent! There is a small disturbance way out in the Atlantic which is typical for this time of year but it's expected to peter out way before it reaches our area.
Great advice haha we seemed to have worried ourselves more than necessary. Thank you so much for putting me at ease. Now I can't wait. I'm glad I found this website! If you have any other recommendations on things we should do that would be great. Thanks again 🙂
The highlights for most visitors are twofold - a day spent exploring St John and a charter daysail to explore snorkeling spots only accessible from the water. Hopefully you're renting a car for your visit so you can enjoy getting out and about as there's SO much to do and see and having your own wheels is a definite plus!
