Almost there, almost there, almost there!
We (my 8 yr old daughter and I) have had our tickets since Dec. (it was her Christmas present) Things have been going back and forth whether we would be able to go. My dad is having his leg amputated at the knee, and we were waiting for it to be scheduled, then my husbands favorite aunt passed last week, then to top it off, my best friend, who lives on STT, wasn't sure if she would be travelling off island for work during the same time we were scheduled to go see her. Now, it looks like it is working out! She should (fingers crossed) be there while we are there!!!! I have been down twice before, but my daughter hasn't been, and is so excited to get away for a Mommy/daughter vacation. I totally need a break, and so does she! We want to go to the St. John Blues Fest this weekend, and basically just chill.
I will post a trip report when we get back. (I posted a long one when I went in 05, then didn't (slap my hand) last year. But in my defense, last year I went with no kids, and it was my birthday, and I can't remember a lot!!!! I think I left my brain at Tickles.......

T.

I'm sorry about your dad's situation. Hopefully the fact that you are able to travel means that all is going well in that regard. How nice that the trip is working out.

Please report a bit on the Blues Festival. Jon Cleary, one of the headliners, is considered among the top New Orleans piano players (although he is a transplant from Great Britain.) Hopefully he'll do "Oh, No No," a lovely latiny beat piece with mentions of a Caribbean woman and a definite sexy sweltering island got-to-move feel to it.

Enjoy!

Gerie
