I can't comment on the exact place that your looking at renting but can tell you that the area is very nice. If you want you can try looking up info on the elysian which is on cowpet bay and also a very good restaurant named robert's there also. The beach is sandy in the middle and then rocky on the outsides.

Do you know if it is in the Anchorage, Cowpet West, Cowpet East or Elysian? Those are the four properties on Cowpet.

waters edge villa I believe is a two bed two bath unit in either the elysian or the cowpet bay condos. It's one unit not a whole complex. I was able to find it on vrbo.com and it looks very nice. I have rented from vrbo before without incident, it looks like a very nice place any way. It shows the elysians pool in the pictures which makes me believe it's a unit in the elysian.

There are two Cowpet complexes - East and West. East is on a bluff overlooking the water while some of the units in the West complex are beachfront or at least beach level along side and behind the Elysian Pool. I don't recall the addresses or the names of specific units but both East and West share the "Elysian beach" and are seperated by the Elysian condo/timeshare complex. If you go to trip advisor and type in Elysian, you'll see pix of a jet ski and those are the Cowpet condos (west) at the far end toward the Yacht Club and are also on a bluff. You might ask your agent for a specific location to insure that, if it's important to be at beach level, the location of the unit especially that it is not in the second tier of buildings. Many of the units are year-round rentals and some rent their units when they are off island yet others are pretty basic and used only for rental.
The beach there is nice and usually pretty quiet. There is a large area roped off for swimming and floating and the calm waters are pleasant. Not much snorkeling other than near the rocks that are under the East complex adjacent to what is known as Hugo beach (so named since Hugo created it). Since Cowpet is shared by the Yacht Club there may be boats moored beyond the swimming area but no live-a-boards - the yacht club is beyond Cowpet and Anchorage is at the other end of Cowpet Bay.
There is Robert's at the Elysian for dinner, Bonnie's on the beach for a casual snack. lunch and dinner (don't know if she still serves b'fast) and a small restaurant at Anchorage, Arthur's. It is a quick ride into Red Hook for dining, groceries, the ferries (to the BVI or St. John) and a vehicle would be recommended. . There is also a beach hut run by New Horizons for rental of water toys and arranging day trips, etc. I usually take my own cheapie blow-up float and leave it behind rather than renting one of theirs.
at the same tripadvisor site, you'll see pix of the beach altho the facility in the pix is the Elsyian.
The Ritz is just beyond the Cowpet East complex.

Jet skis at Cowpet? They were successfully removed quite a while back. Arthur's is no more. 🙁

All of the condominium projects on Cowpet Bay are pretty upscale. They are well situated. Heck, you could hang out at Robert's every night (except Monday) and have a great time.

Didn't realize that jet skis were no longer and that is definitiely is a good move! Only referred to it as it was in the pix and when I was there a couple of weeks ago, didn't even register with me that they were missing! Sure didn't miss the noise, the smell ... I knew Arthur was no longer but didn't know who or if anyone had taken over and altho a trip to the Yacht Club was on my list (pre-Rolex), I ran out of time!
