We decided to try a condo for the 1st time and chose these because we spotted them our 1st time down, we were walking along the beach, full moon, aftera delicious dinner at Bolongo and the location looked so romantic (what doesn't!). We will be 1st floor beach side for 10 days in March, but I earlier read that Mims has moved, is that so? Also has anyone taken their place? Didn't expect to eat there every night but liked having another choice close by.

With that location will it be safe to have the slider open all night to hear the surf? Or does anyone know of a portable travel alarm for that kind of door? We have never had any problems or felt threatened in any way on our trips there.

For 1st timers I highly recommend ordering some of the books shown at the top, they are really helpful and shipping is fast. Now you owe me a bushwacker!

My husband chose the dates because its my birthday, he also tried to use the trip as a X-Mas gift! Silly man I always get jewelery so he thinks he's getting off easy! I just hope there aren"t a lot of spring breakers there, been there done that!!! Counting the days!

Mim's hasn't left- she just opened a second location at Limetree/Bluebeard's Beach. 🙂

About security. I would be careful of open doors if someone could climb up to your verandah. You'll have to scope that out. Some of the first floor units are elevated.

lolly -
we have stayed at watergate and loved it .... it is so easy to walk to iggies for fun any and every night you are there .... mims is still there and serving great food ... the beach house at bolongo also has great food and a pool bar ... staying at watergate (if thru bolongo) you also get free non-motarized beach toys - snorkel, windsurf, sea kayak, etc and can also rent wave runners .... we also kept door open at night, they have new security system with 24 hour cameras, so you are fairly safe, even on 1st floor (we stayed on 1st floor too)

Thanks for the info. may rent a villa next time webring kids/grandkids down I'm afraid if we did so now I might have to cook!

We have always liked the food at Bolongo (just not the rooms) and had lots of fun at Iggies on the West Indies night!

Lolly: Don't let 'em get ya! There are folks who believe that "villa" is the answer to all questions! 😉 The Watergate/Bolongo area is a great, convenient area. And as you mentioned, has great moonrises!
