What time do the cruise excursions typically arrive at Water Island, and when do they move on?

We're visiting STT on December 23 and have an overnight stay, docking at Crown Bay. Thinking to go to Water Island in the afternoon and stay for sunset.

Cruise ship passengers have to be back on board one hour before sailing time and most ships sail out quite early, around sevenish. Any cruise ship tours which take in WI are boat excursions and will only be there for an hour or two at most in the early afternoon. Your visit will be primarily governed by the ferry service and you'll find the times listed top right under, "ferry schedules". Have fun!

Thanks for the info!
So there's a ferry heading back at 6:15pm. Looks like sunset will be around 5:45 that day. How much time should we allow to get from the beach (Honeymoon) back over to the ferry dock?

It's an easy 8-10 minute walk.

Making our plans, and sailing to St Thomas and want to get a ferry over to water island at 10am & then back on ferry at 3:30 to go back to cruise ship. Ship arrives at 8am & sails at 5pm

At least 6 round trip tickets are needed.
Do I have to pre order tickets? If so is there an email to do that?

Can you also give me instructions where to go after we get off ship at Hav. Dock. WE can take a bus or taxi to where the ferry is? Need your advice, help & directions. It is aSaturday arrival to cruise harbor.

There's no pre-purchase of ferry tickets. From the WICO dock you'll take a taxi (they'll be lined up dockside) and just let the driver know you're going to the Water Island ferry at Crown Bay and he'll take you right there. Taxi fare should be $4 per person plus tip.

Thank-you!

Do you think if we leave water island at 3:30 we will be back by 4? I think its only a 10-15 min ferry ride back then another taxi to the cruise ship.

Depends on how many cruise ships are in town that day - If your ship arrives at the Crown Bay dock, you won't have to taxi to Havensite and can just walk back to the ship from the Water Island Ferry at the Marina.

If you Dock at the West Indies dock in Havensite, it may take longer than 30 min. depending on traffic, amount of ships in port that day. Here's a link you can check as time approaches:

Poster said their ship docks at Havensight. Getting the 3:30 ferry is cutting it rather close and you'll be better off taking the 2:30. If you take that, you should be back at Havensight around 3:15 (particularly since it's a Saturday so there'll be less business traffic on the road than usual) and there are tons of shops in the area of the cruise ship dock (and several bars) to keep you occupied if you don't want to get right back on board!

Have fun!
