St. John here we come 😀 Can't wait. Have been a number of times, and thought we might like to ferry over to Water Island for a day trip this time. Any suggestions? Is it worth it?

honeymoon beach there is nice. We stayed on water island 4 years ago.....they had a pizza barge come and you could order pizza in the water! There is also a great dinner ON honeymoon beach...I think it's Heidi's barbecue or something like that.....everyone comes out for it!
enjoy

Check the Water Island ferry schedule on this site and come on over for the day. Will you be coming over from STJ on the car ferry with your rental car? Or, are you coming on the people ferry. If you're coming on foot, catch a safari, thru downtown, and get off at Pueblo. Walk thru Pueblo parking lot, west a couple of blocks and you will see Crown Bay Marina on your left. Go thru the pedestrian gate and find Tickles which is next to the Water Island ferry slip. Have a bushwacker or rum punch.....yummy. Pay the ferry Captain, get off on Water Island side, walk up hill, turn right and down to Honeymoon Beach. Joe's Beach Bar serves wonderful frozen drinks including bushwackers and, if Sunday, Joe has a Sunday jam so if you're a musician, bring your instrument and join in. Heidi Honeymoon Grill serves up excellent hamburgers, chicken, ceasar salad, & steak sandwiches. Heidi also serves drinks if you didn't bring your cooler. Water Island residents and STT locals enjoy Honeymoon Beach on the weekends and especially Sunday. Pretty quiet during the week. No transportation (taxi) offered on WI. You can wear comfortable walking shoes and explore the fort. May be able to hitch a ride. Honeymoon Beach is short walk. Botanical Gardens....instead of turning right to go down to Honeymoon Beach, turn left, walk up hill (it's curvy and steep), see views of Crown Bay on your left, Botanical Gardens on your right. Have fun!

If you plan on having a super romantic dinner at Heidi's on Saturday nights, please make sure you call her since she requests that guests reserve their meal so she doesn't overbuy and waste food. Dinner is served beachside facing west so you can watch the gorgeous sunset with sail boats moored in the background. It's truly a beautiful place and it will be truly worth your time to invest in getting to know more about Water Island and some of the terrific people that live there. No crime, no traffic, no tags on cars, neighbors who know one another, and smiles everywhere.

I hope this helps a bit.

Argh,

T.

Sounds lovely, however a caution to possible beach diners....spray those ankles heavily with bug spray containing DEET or your dinner will be ruined by the sand fleas! Perhaps Heidi provides this as a pre-dining appetizer LOL !

I'm with Thor. For Saturday nights, Heidi's Honeymoon Grill is incredibly romantic and a truly unique, USVI thing to do! Call her early in the day to get the menu and reserve your choice - she usually has 3 choices (one beef, one chicken, one fish). She's at 340-777-5288 or 340-690-0325. When you get over there, just let her know your'e there, then sit and enjoy the sunset with a drink on the beach and put your order in when you're ready. One of my favorite things I've done down here. Have fun!
